         ECONOMIC  RECOVERY PAYMENTS FROM

                           SOCIAL SECURITY 

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provides for a one time stimulus payment of $250.00 to Social Security and Supplemental Social Security beneficiaries as well as those who recieve Railroad Retirement and Veteran's benefits.  You should receive your payment of $250.00 by the end of May.  You don't need to do anything in order to get this one time payment as SS has all the information necessary to get your payment directly to you.  If you receive your SS or SSI payment by direct deposit, the $250 one time payment will be deposited in your account.  If you use the mail system, your check will come in the mail.  If you are married and both you and your spouse get SS or SSI, you will each receive a one time payment of $250.00.  Again all checks should be received by June 4th, 2009 at the latest.
